What you have recommended, Ed, is exactly the way I have organized my life. It works! We alternated such situations as 2 years travelling around the world with 23 years in one house in a small town. To keep from the monotony, we arranged many lengthy sojourns abroad, for up to a year at a time, by renting or trading houses, child in tow. I am currently, at nearly 70, selling the house and planning to explore more of Europe on my own for the next year. And, yes, looking for my next home. You absolutely don't need to give up one life for another forever – just alternate!

Don't drop your friends! Include your partner as appropriate in social gatherings. Life has a way of sorting itself out 😊 best of luck!

men especially single men are restless and driven. They strive to find purpose, make their mark upon the world and achieve something of value and meaning to them. Few men should settle down until at least their mid thirties, they're usually to immature and curious about all sorts of things to be able to effectively do so, without somekind of severe and detrimental repercussions to themselves and those around them. Just my tuppence worth on the subject.
