Some of us who are regarded as “on the Right” have a habit of fetishizing Eastern Europe, and if you don’t spend much time there, or don’t know many people who live there, it is very easy to do so. Having just returned from Moldova, the poorest country in Europe, superficially, at least, you can kind of see the attraction.
