I had very interesting conversation last night, which will be published in due course, with the former hockey player and current evolutionary psychologist J.D. Haltigan. We have very similar research interests, including the connection between personality disorders and political leanings. In trying to understand why society has polarised, and done so with such speed, he made a remark which stuck in my mind. Social media, he said, has acted as the great “thresher.”
