regarding Islam, I'm glad Ed isn't too hard on it. It definitely has bad sides however it also seems to promote really great things in some countries and some parts of history.

Not all of those involved were boomers. There's objective plenty of intergenerational crossover in most aspects of life. The young don't hold power, no matter what they're told by their handlers and influencers, they're tools used to manipulate their peers and apply social pressures in desired directions by various competing interests at the time and subsequently. It's the organised elites of the older generations who hold and wield power and influence overall. The Boomers as a generation, as all generations prior and subsequently were subject to the influence and authority of their seniors who held such positions even if they acted via proxies, which some chose to do. They then subjected the next generation in turn and so on and so forth. While there would certainly have been influences of the Boomer generation, they cannot solely take the blame, as we in turn, the millennials, zoomers, etc. Will no doubt. Broad brush strokes hide details and nuance.
His Boomer crying is a bit like me, a based woman, complaining that it’s not all women and it’s so unfair for people to dismiss what I’m saying because so many women are woke.
Of course it’s a fallacy to dismiss an argument because it’s coming from a Boomer (or a woman), but the resentment is understandable. He’s happy enough to direct it at women and younger generations (raised by Boomers).
Excellent interview and conversations Ed, thanks for putting it on. What an interesting chap Mr Goad is. He's right of course about blaming Boomers for everything. It's reductive and ridiculous. The vast majority of Boomers like their Gen X children and probably preceeding generations had no idea what an infinitesimal section of society was doing and plotting, how could they in all reason, and why would they, the malignancy and spite of such people is alien to them. So how could they know of such malice and spite when they too were being manipulated, deceived and gaslit at virtually every instance.
Not all Boomers made the changes, but the changes were made by Boomers elected by Boomers.
Calling someone a Boomer is not an argument, but resentment for what has happened under Boomers is perfectly reasonable. Of course most Boomers were being deceived… by Boomers.
Movements like feminism, the hippie crap, free sex, destruction of the family made huge strides under Boomers.
I don’t blame Boomers as a whole, but the bad apple Boomers are pretty rotten.
